Digital for every human
OpenAccess works with clients across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia to make websites and apps more accessible for disabled people, and better for everyone.
What we do
Accessibility audits
Get a clear understanding of your product's accessibility. Measured against international standards (WCAG), audits give a clear plan to improve.
Team training
Practical workshops that help your team understand accessibility, spot common issues, and build better habits into everyday work.
Ongoing support
Work with us on an ongoing basis to embed accessibility into your development process from day one — avoid expensive rework later.
What is accessibility?
Digital accessibility means designing things so disabled people can achieve their goals like everyone else — kind of like the digital equivalent of ramps.
Services can have barriers for people with vision, physical, cognitive, neurological, or reading disabilities. Accessibility removes those barriers. Accessibility is essential for disabled people, but good accessible design generally helps everyone.
1 in 6 New Zealanders identify as disabled.
With an ageing population, accessibility is becoming more important. We can help ensure nobody is excluded from using your products and services.
What people say
A refreshing change from the usual death-by-PowerPoint approach — the hands-on demos and real-life examples really made it accessible for everyone. Literally!

Accessibility isn't optional. It's a human right.
Kia ora 👋🏻 I'm Callum — I lead OpenAccess. I'm on a mission to make the world a better place for disabled people. I have a background in computer science, and I spent years working in NZ Government improving its accessibility. Now I bring this expertise and my lived experience of vision impairment to OpenAccess.
